Below you can find how to use the coffee machine in the kitchen (Krups Dolce Gusto KP240)
Set up the Machine
- Make sure the power cord is plugged in and the machine is flat on the countertop
- Fill the water tank with fresh (preferably bottled) water and secure it in place
Turn On the Machine
- Open the capsule holder by lifting the lever on the front; the machine will switch on and heat up
- The light will blink as it heats up. Wait for the light to stop blinking and remain solid, indicating the machine is ready to use
Insert the Capsule
- Slide out the capsule holder compartment
- Insert your desired Dolce Gusto capsule into the capsule compartment and slide back into the machine
- Close the lever firmly to secure the capsule in place
Select the Drink Size
- If needed, turn the control dial to choose the desired drink size (e.g. small, medium, or large) indicated by the green lines
Start Brewing
- Press the button(cup icon) to start brewing your drink
Important: the machine has no sensor to detect the waterlevel in the water tank. Make sure there is enough water left in the tank before pressing the button
- The machine will begin dispensing the beverage. You can stop it at any time by pressing the button again
Enjoy Your Drink
- Once the machine stops, your beverage is ready! Carefully remove your cup
- Dispose of the used capsule by lifting the lever, pull out the capsule compartment and discarding it
Turn Off the Machine
- The machine will automatically turn off after a few minutes of inactivity to save energy
Good to know
- Boxes with Dolce Gusto coffee capsules are sold in almost any supermarket in the area
- Recommended drink size is shown on the capsule box, but you can obviously choose your own preference. You can change drink size by turning the knob/dial on the machine (see above)
- Some drinks (e.g. Cappuccino) will require two capsules for one drink (milk and coffee). This is explained on the capsule box.
Note that for those drinks, different drink size needs to be selected for the two capsules by turning the knob (refer to the box for recommended size for each capsule type)
- It is also possible to prepare cold brew coffees in the machine (if you have the right capsule). In order to do so, you will need to push the button with the red thermometer sign. It will then turn blue, indicating cold brew setting. Please remember to add ice to your glass/cup
- The capsule compartment and drip tray are dishwasher proof. The water tank is not suitable for the dishwasher. Please clean by hand with water and soap, as needed.
- On the last day of your stay, please ensure the coffee machine is clean, water tank empty and used capsules disposed of
