Alarm

This section explains how to arm and disarm the alarm.

It is strongly recommended to turn on the alarm every time you leave your holiday home; just to be on the safe side and for your own peace of mind.

Timing

For your information and comfort, please note that you will have approximately the following time before the alarm is triggered:

  • Leaving: once the alarm is armed via any of the methods described below, you will have c. 30 seconds to leave the house and close the front door (the front door is equipped with a door sensor). The alarm system will start beeping once you have armed the alarm, indicating you need to leave the house within the set time.
  • Arriving: once you open the front door, the system will start beeping. You will have approx. 30 seconds to turn off the alarm.

Arming and disarming the alarm is quick and straight forward, so no need to worry. You will have enough time!

Methods

The alarm can be operated in three different ways:

  • Through a remote control
  • Through a fob
  • By a numeric code on the alarm panel next to the front door.

In principle, you would receive keys to your holiday home with either a remote or a fob. In the exceptional case, this is not feasible, we can create a temporary numeric code for you, that will be shared separately

Remote control

Arming the alarm

Simply click on the shield with tick-mark sign on your remote

Disarming the alarm

Click on the button with the shield with cross sign (bottom of the remote).

Fob

Arming the alarm

On the alarm panel next to the front door, push the button with the shield with tick-mark sign. Then hold the fob against the reader at the bottom of the panel. You will know arming was successful when the system begins to beep.

Disarming the alarm

To disarm, simply hold the fob in front of the reader at the bottom of the alarm panel (i.e. similar procedure as arming, but then without the need to press a button on the panel).

Numeric code

Arming the alarm

In case you don’t have a remote or fob, you will be provided with a (temporary) numeric code separately.

This code will need to be entered on the alarm panel next to the front door:

  • Push the button with the shield with tick-mark sign
  • Enter the numerical code on the keypad

Like the other methods, the system will start beeping when you’ve successfully armed the alarm.

Disarming the alarm

When you enter the house, simply enter the numeric code on the keypad. No need to push any other buttons.

Important: as indicated above, you will have c. 30 seconds before the alarm is triggered. Using this method, please make sure you have the code to hand or have memorised it when you enter the home. You might not have enough time if you need to start looking for the code, once you’ve already entered the house.
